FROM DOUBLE BAY TO E-COMMERCE
You might remember when Esq was a small but beloved brick-and-mortar boutique in beautiful Double Bay, Sydney. That connection with the local community is something we’ve always treasured and carried with us. It shaped the way we design our pieces and how we approach our customers. It was here that we learned the true value of relationships—not just with our customers, but with the artisans who helped us bring our creations to life. When we transitioned to an online-only model due to the pandemic, we never lost sight of the importance of that community connection. It continues to shape everything we do, as we strive to build a community of like-minded individuals who value craftsmanship and authenticity.
As we’ve grown, we’ve also realised the importance of moving toward a more sustainable, ethical approach to jewellery. Over the years, we’ve continued to stay informed through attending international jewellery conferences and constant research into materials and best practices. This has led us to a deeper focus on local and ethical production, something we are now pursuing with more intention than ever.

Vartan has long been a quiet but essential part of the Esq story, carefully restoring your most sentimental pieces and helping bring your custom ideas to life. Now, we're proud to share that his role is growing. From 2024 onward, Vartan will be handcrafting all of our custom jewellery and Baby Initial collections using locally sourced, high-quality materials like gold, silver, diamonds, and natural stones.This is just the beginning of a deeper collaboration—one that reflects our commitment to craftsmanship, local production, and the relationships that make this work so meaningful. We can’t wait to show you more of what we’ll create together.
